Vigorous, clump forming perennial with evergreen or semi-evergreen leaves that are heavily spotted and suffused with silver. Long-stemmed sprays of small flowers, pinkish at first then shading to violet and purple blue, opening from reddish-purple buds in spring.
Moist, well drained soil in a shady position.
Cut back to ground level in autumn. Mulch in autumn and spring. Feed with general purpose fertiliser in mid-spring and again after midsummer. Can be prone to mildew if they become too dry.
