Dessert pear of good rich flavour, rather short, rounded shape and fragrant pinkish flesh. White flowers in spring. Vigorous, hardy and disease resistant.
Moist well drained soil in sun. Performs best in slightly warmer conditions then apples. Also crops a bit earlier, in late summer or early autumn.
Needs a warm location to grow well.

Raised by Major Espéren, Belgium about 1830 and named after his wife.
