description:
Half-hardy annual. Compact, fairly dwarf habit and ferny, finely-cut, aromatic leaves with a citrus scent. Freely produces small flowers in a range of colours, yellow, orange and reds, including bicolours.

cultivation:
Needs full sun and moderately fertile well drained soil. Will grow in both clay and sandy soils. Reasonably drought tolerant.
Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.

propagation:
From seed which usually germinates within 2 weeks. Sow in from February to April, under cover. Transplant after risk of frost.

usage:
Bedding and containers.
Supposed to repel insects and used in companion planting with vegetable crops such as potatoes and tomatoes.
Used as a food flavouring.
