description:
Bulbous perennial producing fans of narrow bladed basal leaves and in summer a succession of short-lived but striking flowers, which may me orange, yellow, red, pink or white and usually with bold central markings.

cultivation:
Frost tender, in cold areas bulbs need to be lifted and stored at about 10°C over winter. Likes reasonable fertile, well drained sandy soil. Can be grown in a container as a conservatory plant.
