description:
Large, broadly columnar tree with weeping branches and pendant shoots. Rounded, toothed, long-stalked, dark green leaves, densely white-felted underneath. Pendant cymes of fragrant pale yellow flowers in late summer followed by grey-green, usually sterile, fruits.

Any reasonably fertile, moist, well drained soil, preferably neutral to alkaline, in sun or part shade.
May be hard pruned if required, in winter or early spring.
