description:
Robust, compact, half-hardy annual with tall branching stems and large, triangular, occasionally lobed, toothed leaves, hairy underneath. Velvety rich red-orange flowers from late summer to autumn.

cultivation:
Well drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun. Dislikes cool conditions. Established plants are reasonably drought tolerant.
Allow plenty of space for plants to develop.

propagation:
From seed, sown directly in frost-free conditions or earlier under glass and transplanted after all risk of frost.

usage:
Annual borders. Excellent cut flower.
Attractive to insects.
