Spring flowering bulb. Elegant smallish flowers of vivid red with pale yellow margins and primrose yellow inside.
Similar to the Tulipa clusiana species, but larger and taller growing.

Well drained, preferably neutral to alkaline soil in sun.
Plant bulbs in late summer and autumn at a depth of 10 to 15cm. For best performance, lift bulbs annually after foliage dies back, store and replant.

Border, rock gardens, containers. Good for naturalising
