description:
Distinctive pansy with unusual large, frilled and ruffled flowers in a wide range of colours. Usually flowers in late winter and spring or in summer.

cultivation:
Short-lived perennial usually cultivated as a biennial or annual. Any reasonable, moist soil in full sun or partial shade.

propagation:
From seed sown in early spring or late summer, usually in trays, preferably at between 15 and 20°C. Cover seed lightly and do not exclude light as this helps germination, which usually takes 14 to 21 days. May be transplanted into small pots for over-wintering. Late sowings will flower the following spring.
