Compact, subshrubby, deciduous or semi-evergreen perennial. Wiry stems and narrowly lance-shaped, felted grey-green leaves. Bright orange-red, tubular flowers freely produced in late summer and autumn.
Well drained poorish soil in full sun. Thrives in dry conditions. Needs a reasonably warm location.
